They Grow Up So Fast!

Ok, I am actually quiet sad about this. Keiren has now officially graduated up to a big girl bed. We had to take apart her crib due to a recall and my grandmother had a twin bed that was unused, so we hopped at the opportunity to get a new bed for free. So my man and I took down the crib and put up the twin while she was napping the other day. She woke up and we showed her the new bed and she was all excited. We even got her a Tinkerbell bedspread, she really like that. The other morning I came home from working a very late shift and checked on her like I always do and there she was all snuggled up in her new bed looking so peaceful and beautiful. It hit me then just how big she is getting. Man where have the last two years gone. Maybe it's time to start thinking about another one? .........

Ok did my first work out for week one. Had to rest for a day in between my initial test. I can really tell how out of shape I am by how sore my legs are. But did a good day 1 week 1 work out and about 30 mins of my Pilate's DVD. Keiren had a good time swimming, a bit apprehensive. She didn't want to put her feet down to stand up in the 2ft pool. She also just wanted to play rather than listen to the teacher. So we'll have to work on that. We go again tomorrow. Not much else going on. Working on a couple of pairs of socks. I really have fell in love with doing socks. And while I was on vacation in Bend I made my man take me to a local yarn store. I picked up a book on how to do socks two at a time. I have a pair started for Keiren with some left over yarn that I had to practice with. So yeah that's about it. I will leave you with a couple of pictures of Keiren from our trip to Bend.

OK so what have we been up too the last few weeks? Actually lots. We went on vacation for a week at my grandparents in Bend, OR. That was a lot of fun, we didn't do all that much, but a week away from everything is soo nice. Went to the museum, did some shopping, ate lots of food. And then we all got sick! Why is it when ever we go on vacation we end up getting a cold? Is it because we finally slow down and our bodies just can't handle it or what. Well we had a good time anyways. Good to see the family. While we were down there we were told that my mother-n-law broken her ankle. She ended up having surgery to fix it. She broke every bone in her ankle along with dislocating it. Very bad, but she is doing well besides having to be in a chair 24/7. Keiren is getting so big and so very smart. I feel like in the last few weeks she has grown up so much. She is constantly asking questions and wanting to know what everything is. Very inquisitive. I love it! We signed her up for swimming lessons, I have been meaning to do this for a very long time and finally got around to doing it. We start tomorrow at a local pool that actually has salt water instead of chlorine. I guess it's easier to learn how to swim in, more buoyant. So we'll see how it goes. I think she will really like it once she is comfortable. I have decided to start somewhat of a workout routine. I had lost some weight but it is gradually creeping back on. So now need to do some exercise. I have no excuse not too, my work has a gym. So I have copied/stole some ideas from a friend. I am going to do these: http://twohundredsquats.com, http://twohundredsitups.com, and http://hundredpushups.com. They are a gradual build up over six weeks. I'm really excited about it, hope I can keep with it. It would do me really good. So today at my lunch break I took my initial test. I can do 15 modified push ups ( on knees), 40 good crunches/sit ups, and 31 squats. Which is a lot better than I thought I would be able to do. All that lifting of a 27lb baby really pays off more than I think. I also walked a very fast mile on the treadmill. So tomorrow I will start the real routine of doing this every other day. Next I need to work on getting better at running.

Well hello. Now daddy knows how to update the blog so hopefully between the two of us we can keep on top of things. Well Keiren had her two year check up about three weeks ago all is good. She weights 26 lbs and is 2' tall, but her head is still off the charts. That would be the Woolcott side of the family. But she needs the extra space for the huge brain that she has. The doctor was asking Keiren questions about where different things were on her body. Like where's you feet, your head, and stuff. Keiren started to point and name her teeth, hair, eye brow, elbow, armpit, and neck. The doctor was very surprised at all that she knew all of these things.

Our cousin Caitlyn had a concert that she played in last weekend and I got to go watch. To be a part of this band, that had kids from all over the state, her teacher had to submit a CD of her playing Then she had to be picked by a committee to play in the band. She was the only student from her district to be selected and the only eighth grader to be chosen. Her teacher was very proud that one of his students was chosen. While I was there I was standing on my grandma's lap facing the stage conducting just like the person on the podium.

For the last couple days daddy and I have been fighting a cold. I got a flu shot at my two year check-up. But wouldn't you know it I get sick anyway. On Wednesday night my temp actually got up to 103.9 degrees. Mom and dad were very concerned but when I went to sleep it lowered and when I got up on Thursday it was below 99 degrees. But we went to the doctor anyway and we found out that even though I haven't shown any signs of one, I have a major ear infection. All of this happens on mommy's vacation. She's upset that she gets to spend her vacation looking after 2 sick people. Cross you fingers she hasn't gotten sick herself. Well I guess that's all for now. Will try to update more often.

So it has been a very very long time since I have updated anything on this blog. Lots of crazy stuff has been going on in our lives making it very hard to keep up. Well guess I should get started. Um lets see, we left off at Keiren's first birthday, a very long 9 months ago. So got my job at the new police department. I have somewhat been promoted to a trainer already, which is way way cool and something I have always wanted to do. But let me tell you it has been very tiring and fulfilling at the same time if that makes any sense. Keiren is getting oooh so very big and each day she is showing how incredibly smart and funny she is. I will post pics. Well maybe, she just knocked out her front tooth the other day so not too many pictures of her lately. Mmmmm we moved to a new place. Bigger than the one before but not my favorite. Need to decorate, that might make me feel better about it. Scott and I have both been super busy at work and just plugging away. We just got back from a short trip to Vegas. That was lots of fun. Good break from training for me, really needed it, haven't had a vacation all year since getting new job. Not excited at all about Christmas. Very bah humbug this year not sure why though. I think there are a lot of people out there feeling the same way. So yeah, that's about it for the moment. Going to get some pictures up of my super cutie! Post more later.

Happy First Birthday Baby Girl!!!!!!!

We had a wonderful get together with some family and friends, on the second of February. (Officially her birthday is the sixth, but since I'm not a very good blogger we are a bit delayed in posting) We all ate pizza and had some gourme cupcakes from Hello Cupcake in Tacoma. They were aboslutely delicious and Keiren loved them! We also had our twelve month checkup. All things look good there. She is right on track for her height, her head is off the charts (Such a huge noggin!) and on the 25% for her weight. We got a skinny minny on our hand here but let me tell you she is a very voarcious eater. Especially right now with her wanting to crawl and being This Close to walking. She has taken a few steps on her own, like two or three at a time but soon very soon she will be walking.

NEW JOB

Offically I have been offered a position at a new Police Department. I have to wait for an appointment with Human Resources to fill out paperwork and then I get to pick a start date!!! WOOO HOOO! So very excited!! Lots of oppertunity at this new department! Can't wait!!!

First Words and pics

We have officially said our first words. Not just word but words!

She says the normal Mama and Dada but she also says What, More (along with the sign language) and Baby. We are also working on Please in sign language. She does this one about every 4th time of asking for More. She is getting very busy crawling about and using furniture to walk around the living room with. Not much longer and she'll be walking. She already lets go and stands for a couple of seconds before falling. She has also cut another tooth. We are now up to 7.

Christmas, New Years and a New Job?

Well this will be another post without pictures. I'm working on getting some ready, for real this time. We had a pretty good Christmas, I had to work so we decided to hold off on opening any presents until the weekend after. Nobody wants a graveyard worker with no sleep around. : ) So Keiren got lots of cool toys and lots of clothes. Thank you to everyone!!! New years was not that exciting, I also had to work! So the last month or so has been pretty uneventful. We went to Zoo lights. That was lots of fun, very cold.

I am in the process of doing my background investigation for another police agency. The city I currently work for is in the process of consolidating with another agency and I decided I didn't want to be apart of that, so new job for me. That is if they hire me. You know my crazy past just might catch up with me. LOL! I'm hoping that if all goes well that by the beginning of March I will be working for a different agency.

My little one has been such a bundle of joy! She absolutely loves to crawl around the living room and play with all her toys and chase the cats and get into everything! She is also very smart, we had put of some boxes in the hallway to contain her to the living room, she proceeded to push them right out of the way and continue on her merry way to playing in the cat's water dish. All I could do was laugh. Maybe for her birthday we need to get some baby gates. I don't think she will be able to get past them! Every day I am amazed at how smart and beautiful she is!

We are now officially CRAWLING!!! Let the Chaos ensue!!!

I have been looking forward too and dreading this moment from the beginning!
She is now very independent and wants to be down on the floor all the time and of course she is into everything. And I mean EVERYTHING!!! But such are the joys of being a parent. I think what I love the most about her crawling is that she is so very cute and fun to watch her go to town. We also now have to officially baby proof the house. I have been gradually working on this since Autumn (our next door neighbor and bestest buddy) has been walking, but we have a long way to go. Gotta work on getting the entertainment center locked up, Keiren keeps turning off the XBOX 360 while daddy is playing. I think that it is very humorous but he doesn't think so.

She now officially has 6, count them 6 teeth! All four of her front top teeth and two bottom teeth.

We had our 10 month check up, (yeah we made it!) She is doing very well. She is still on the 25 % for her weight gain. A healthy 17 lbs and 10oz. Only one shot this time, a flu shot. Not much else that happened there. She will be having another one in two months at her year! Oh my goodness how the year has gone by! Where did the time go!

Halloween, Thanksgiving and More!

OK, so I have not been a very good blogger! But it's hard keeping up with an almost 10 month old and I promise to be better about keeping up with it. So now, onto the updating

Starting with Halloween, we had a blast. We went as a super cute penguin with our bestest buddies Autumn and Sabbath. The weather was very nice and we went to Downtown Sumner and walked around for about an hour. They even shut down main street. Way cool. There were so many cute costumes! Got some good ideas for next year.

Our 9 month check up. Well I have been working grave yard and on my days home to sleep I have been keeping Keiren with me. Let me tell you I don't get much sleep. So on the day of her 9 month check up (I tried to reschedule it with the doctor seeing as it was on a day early in the morning when I would be typically sleeping) we slept through it. So we will now be having a 10month check up and will post our weight and all that good stuff when we get to go to that appointment.

Teeth! We now have two more teeth. Making it 4 in total. Woo Hoo!!! It is kinda funny because the two that have come in are one front tooth and then the tooth to the left of that. Not both of her front teeth. So weird! But the other two on the right side are right behind. I can feel them just under the gums. Now this makes for very interesting nursing sessions, the few that we are down to now. She is definitely testing out her teeth. She is also doing very well with her solids. We eat all kinds of cool and chunky foods.

Thanksgiving. We went out of town for Thanksgiving. We went down to my grandparents for the weekend. We had soo much fun, ate a ton and did a little shopping too. The weather was perfect for driving over the pass and was very cold but pretty. Had a wonderful time and miss them soo very much!

Long time no Blog

Well, I am finally getting around to posting this month. Sorry for the delay, we have had an interesting few weeks. So I am going to work backwards from the last post to this week.

Lets see, oh yeah, Sabbath and I learned how to Tie Dye. Way fun. We did a bunch of onesies and a dress /jacket set. We also dyed a doggy t-shirt for my grandparent's Chihuahua, Dudley. They all turned out super cute and we had a blast doing it!! We will be doing another batch soon.

My great grandmother passed away. She was 101. That is just soo amazing to me. To think of all the things she saw in her lifetime! We went down to Eugene to be there for the memorial service. It was very nice to go and see some members of my family that I haven't seen in a few years. Keiren and I went to Bend and stayed a few days longer with my grandparents so they could get some one on one time with the baby. We had lots of fun and we miss you sooo much!!!!

We also went up to the lake and laid to rest my grandfather's ashes. It was very hard thing for me to do but I am so glad that I went and finally got some closure. It was raining but so very beautiful and serene. He wouldn't want it any other way! We would have been out on that lake fishing in that kind of weather. It was just perfect.

I also had a little vacation. I didn't do much. Had a birthday and got sick. We have been fighting this cold for the last week and a half. Keiren, being the loving daughter that she is, got us all sick.

And now for the most important and exciting current news........

Keiren has finally cut her first tooth. Yeah!!! Wooo Hooo!!!! It is just the very tip of her tooth that I can feel above the gums. Very exciting!! I think that gets us up to date. :)

Alright, so I have been bad and not updated in a while. Okay, well lets see what has happened since last. She has done very well with solids, progressing very smoothly, she only makes funny faces with the fruits now. They are so cute! We had our six month check up and shots. She is a healthy 14 lbs and 6oz, 26 inches long and everything is looking perfect. She also sits up on her own. As you can tell in her picture. She does really good then every once in a while falls over. Not much else other than she is still a very talkative baby, I love waking up to her talking to herself! I have a few new pictures I need to post, hopefully I will get to them this weekend.

Okay, okay!! I concede. I have finally done it! I gave my little one some solid food!! I have been very hesitant and was waiting until she showed me signs that she was ready on her own. Well she now sits up supported in her Bumbo seat, she has definitely lost her tongue thrust reflex, and she is very and I mean very interested in food. Plus she's a moocher, wanting anything that we are eating. She loves it! This is coming at a very good time, we have been kinda struggling with keeping up the milk supply while i am at work. Pumping is very hard to do while working full time! So hopefully in the next few months I can cut back on how much I need to pump at work.
Again I say how much she has changed in the last few weeks. She now is babbling, not just making noise, but actually babbling. Very excited! I think she is also teething. Sooo much fun that is! She used to sleep through the night and for the last 5 nights she is waking up at 1 or 2 am for some comfort and a snack. I was really enjoying those 6 straight hours of sleep. Oh well, hopefully she will bust some teeth out soon! We also got a new car seat. The old one was getting too small. Very cute, a sage green one with orange flowers on it. I will post pics later!
I think all of these things added together make me look at her and realize she is no longer an infant but a baby!!! Sigh!!! But all is well and we will put some pictures up later this week!

Well not much going on here. Had a fun 4th of July. We just hung around the house and lit a few fireworks off. We didn't want to go far for the fear of Keiren not being able to handle the noise. She did very good only got upset a couple of times when the loud crackling ones went off.
We got Keiren a new chair called a Bumbo seat. It is designed for babies 3 to 14months old, as soon as they can hold up their head they can sit in it. She is wanting to sit up so badly, she even is crawling out of her bouncer! She just loves it! That and being held while standing up!
I have to say that every time I get back from being at work for the weekend she is looking/acting different. It is just amazing how fast she is growing and she has just the cutest laugh! She is becoming more and more aware of what is going on around her and more expressive in her wants and needs. Developing quite the personality!

Well a lot has happened in the last week or so. First Keiren decided that she wants to talk now. All day long she is constantly babbling. We tend to have very lengthy and in depth conversations. I love it so much! Second she learned to roll over from her back to her front and from her front to her back. It was just over night that she learned to do this. She still tends to get stuck about halfway over but she manages just fine. Third she now finds her feet and toes as a great play toy. She pulls them up when she is getting changed, when she is playing in her swing or on the floor. Very cute!! I can't believe how much she has learned in the last week and a half, just amazing!!!

We also bought a new car. The Jetta was just too small for us. So we decided to get a Dodge Caliber. Very cool ! It's sporty and roomy with out being too much of a soccer mom's vehicle. Sorry I know that mini vans and such serve a purpose but they are just not my cup of tea! So we choose the Caliber instead and I love it!!!

Today we are 4 months old. We are 12lbs 13 oz. 24 1/2" long and we are right on track for our developmental milestones. I'm very cranky though, I got 4 shots. Mom did O.K though no crying this time. Mom made me a pretty purple ring sling, will post pictures later. Last night we went to cousin Caitlyn's recital. She plays clarinet. It was lots of fun. We had dinner with great grandma Howat (G.G.) on Monday. Tomorrow Cousin Caitlyn is coming to stay the night with me I'm so excited. She is so fun to be around, she takes good care of me. Today is Memorial Day and everyone has the day off so we went and spent some time with Uncle Jayce and Grandma today! Had lots of fun and took some pictures. Well here it is. My very First Mother's day! but as luck would have it I get to work today. I got a couple of hours in with my baby this morning and also got to spend some time with my mom. My loving husband surprised me last night when I got home from work at midnight with a beautiful bouquet of roses and a very lovely necklace that he went and picked out on his own. Well not much new here. My dearest baby is coming up on her third month. How the time has flown. She has already gone to two, count it two, Mariner's baseball games. How did she ever get so lucky. Although for the most part she sleeps through them. We had a blast at the last one. Sabbath, Autumn and Chad also went and we ate lots of fattening food and cheered our Mariners to a win!
I am now officially on my third week back to work. Ugh! I hope my days will get better and I can be more excited to be at work. In time I think it will become easier. Luckily here at work I can have my baby brought in to nurse, which is way cool!! Pumping gets to be pretty boring and hard to fit in. That is about it, going to put up more photos cause I just love to see my little one on my computer.

Parade and Great Grandpa's B Day

Today is Daffodil Parade Day. My husband and mother came and saw the parade in town. I had to work so they also stopped by and said hi and got to get in some cuddle time on a short break. I miss her so much, but a quick visit is a good fix for a few hours.

Today is also my Grandfather's birthday. He would have been 78. Last year we had strawberry shortcake and he said it was the best he ever had. I need to go and have some for him. I miss him dearly. My first blog! and back to work!

OK, so here goes it. First I just want to thank my best est buddy for making my lovely blog. Thank You Sabbath!!!!!

Second to start off my blog with a big huge post, so everyone can get updated with my baby Keiren. She was born on Feb 6th, 2007 at 1:41 in the am. Weighing in at 6lbs and 15oz and 19 1/4 inches long. She came about two weeks early, we had some blood pressure issues. She was born two weeks after my dear grandfather passed away. So that didn't help my blood pressure. Picture is of him and I right after Thanksgiving.

She has been a very wonderful and ooh so adorable baby. Life has been pretty interesting so far. If you count everything being flipped upside down as interesting. Amazing how such a small being can do that to you.

The last 10 weeks I have enjoyed being on maternity leave and staying home with her. Going out for walks, doing yard work and of course shopping. Cause, darn it, a girl can never have enough clothes!!! I have tried to learn and deal with the chaos that a baby can bring to a household. I just never seem to be able to keep up with the laundry or keep my house clean. Oh well, nobody cares anyway they just want to see the baby!

Today was a rough day for me. I had to go back to work. If I could stay home I would!!! I probably would go crazy from being at home but I could be with my baby all day and all night. But I can't, so today off to work! Sabbath so graciously has offered to babysit on Thursdays and Daddy will be home on Fri and Sat and on Sunday she gets to rotate through family members. If you haven't noticed I have a funky work schedule. I work Thursday through Sunday. So, I was ok this morning. We went for a walk with Sabbath and Autumn, had some coffee, only cried once, but then 1:30 came and I had to pass her over to Sabbath and I just lost it. I cried all the way to work and some more when I got there. Thank god both my co workers are female. They gave me big hugs and told me everything would be ok. It's funny, I know that she is going to be just fine and well taken care of, it's just that I, not her, have soo much anxiety about being gone. I just miss her so. Sniff!! Sniff!! Well that's about it for now. We went to the Mariners game yesterday so maybe I will get the picture I took posted tomorrow.
